WRITING

SCREENPLAYS, NOVELS, MUSICALS

Since we were denied the rights (it was worth a try!) to carry on with our already written musical VOODOO CHILD -THE JIMI HENDRIX ROCK EXPERIENCE written by myself and Reginald Worthy, (www.worthy.de) we've decided to turn it into something else but we're not sure what just yet - so stay tuned.

Right now I am writing a screenplay titled VENUS AND THE TEDDY BEAR and will finish it as soon as I am ocnvinced that long film titles are in fashion again.

THE DISINTERESTEDS, a comedy screenplay comedy written with Sherry Strub about a self-help group for people disinterested in the media’s negativity and how this group of misfits turn the town upside down with their comic demands.

WRITER'S BLOCK is a script I wrote for Gabriel Byrne. Middle-aged romance novelist with a secret falls for a serious photo journalist. Boy meets girl, boy never gets girl, girl finds boy, they drink a glass of lemonaid and live ha[[ily ever after. Or something like that.

MOUNT JOY, a light romantic comedy about Eileen Van Own, a small town waitress with dreams of a music career, who inherits her estranged father’s farm along with the ranch hand who runs it: Eddie, her even more estranged high school sweetheart.

WHEELBARROW WORLD, both a children’s novel and a fantasy screenplay, also written with Sherry Strub, about a boy and his incredible handmade wheelbarrows, his desire to buy the coveted Fish Rights, and the mysterious Jimmy Puttit, with a golf club for a hand, who helps make Randy’s dream come true.

LIFE’S A BITCH AND THEN YOU DIE, my first book (in progress) about my (other) musician brother Derek, and the problematic relationship between us that we were able to work out before he died from AIDS at the age of 27.

PROTECT AND SERVE, (Treatment) a crime drama set in 1989 about Denny Barnes, an L.A. cop who goes back to a reunified Germany to say goodbye to the man who last saw his father alive, 20 years before at Checkpoint Charlie. Once there, he’s told some things about his dad he would have been better off not knowing, and meets a young East German woman he’d have been better off not having met.

REAL WOMEN, spec script written for a TV show that at one time was being produced by Dove Soap.
